A Follow up to the “Trends in Holy Redeemer Middle School” article
If you read the previous issue of The Holy Redeemer Gazette, you would know that last year there was an article about the trends in the Holy Redeemer Middle School. But that opens the question – what’s new and what’s gone?
With a new wave of students and time away for things to become popular or old, it’s not very surprising that things have changed. For example, there has been a decline in the number of people who play Fortnite. The number went from 34.7% of people to 29.9%. Another example of changing trends is the number of Taylor Swift fans. Last year, six students answered enthusiastically when asked if they liked Taylor Swift. This year it went up to ten people. More people have Nike Air Maxes and Nike Air Jordans this year than last. In addition to that, more people own Lululemon this school year. These changes in trends are likely due to the fact that last year’s eighth grade graduated, and there is a new sixth grade.
Despite the changes, some of Holy Redeemer’s trends have remained. One example is slang; “rizz” (an abbreviation for “charisma”) has reigned supreme yet again, with a total of 53 people using it – even if they mean it ironically. Similarly, “baca” (a Japanese word for crazy or dumb) was yet again the least popular word in the Holy Redeemer Middle School.
In conclusion, many trends don’t stick for too long, with new ones constantly flooding in. This is supported by the fact that the majority of students said there had been changes in trends over summer break. So make sure to pay some alpha level attention to the new skibidi only in Ohio trends, you slay queens! No cap, period!
