On November 8th, the Holy Redeemer 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students went to Ronnie’s Cinema to get into the Christmas spirit. The classes saw the new movie “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”. Every class reads this book in 4th grade. With the release of the movie adaptation of the book, the Holy Redeemer teachers came up with the wild idea of sending over half of the school on a field trip to the movies.
Parent volunteers drove students to the movie. When everyone got there, students, teachers, and parents picked up popcorn and a drink. Holy Redeemer rented out two theaters for this field trip; the 4th- 6th grade watched in one theater while the 7th and 8th watched in the other.
This movie and book are about six outcast children who spontaneously volunteer to star in their small town’s Sunday school annual Christmas pageant. This 4th-grade tradition of reading this book leading up to Christmas got to have a fun spin on it this year, and students at Holy Redeemer who had read this book in previous years luckily got to partake in this adventure as well. What a fun way to kick off Christmas!
