The Holy Redeemer Gazette has recently started a morning show called Holy Redeemer Gazette TV. An episode is shown to each class before their first class period begins. Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes of the morning show?
The day before they film, each student featured in HRG TV writes their script. Every day after school, two anchors (hosts), a joker, and a meteorologist, plus a sports recaper if it’s Monday, a book recommender if it’s Wednesday, and a featured guest if it’s Friday begin filming. These students each film their section and then Dignan Jost, Editor for HRG TV, edits and puts together all the clips. The episode is then put on the Holy Redeemer Gazette website for teachers to show their students. These roles switch weekly to give everyone a chance to be on screen.
Holy Redeemer Gazette TV is run by the Holy Redeemer Gazette, so if you like the morning show, you should consider joining Newspaper Club, which is open to 6th-8th grade students. The roles for the morning show are the Joker, who says what the national day is, a fun fact, and a joke, the two anchors, who start off the morning show with the date, say the hot lunch, and transition between the different segments of the show, the meteorologist, who says what the weather is like, a book recommender, who recommends books for different grade levels each Wednesday, and a sports recapper, who says whether or not our Saint Louis sports teams won or lost their games.
All these roles contribute to putting together the amazing Holy Redeemer Gazette Morning Show that you see each day. They put lots of effort into each episode. Now you know more about what happens behind the scenes of HRG TV.
