Mr. Paradise was welcomed to Holy Redeemer with open arms this year as he filled the position of middle school English and literature teacher. To get to know him better, we asked him a few questions to break the ice.
You may be wondering what a teacher does outside of school, well Mr. Paradise likes to vacation and hike for exercise. His favorite travel destinations are Ocracoke, an island on the North Carolina coast, and any Western National Parks. When asked if he had always lived in St. Louis he said no, he’d lived in Houston and Massachusetts. He noted that many teachers helped him along the way which has helped him get to his position today.
Here are some other facts about Mr. Paradise. He was the youngest of 14 siblings. Four of his siblings are teachers but neither of his parents finished high school! His mom had dropped out of 8th grade to earn money for her family, and his dad fought in World War II. Mr. Paradise had many jobs before teaching. One of them was that he sold newspapers at the age of ten. Now you know a little more about our new teacher, Mr. Paradise!
